NORTH Cornwall District Council's Planning and Development Committee will next month consider plans for a health centre at Budehaven Community School after holding a site meeting at the college.

Cornwall County Council have submitted an application seeking permission to extend an existing bungalow within the college site and change its use from an exam facility to a health centre.

It is intended to use the existing facilities within the school site. The centre is designed to support existing pupils of the school and would be an integral part of the school.

The centre would be used by the school pupils during school hours and community use to be confined to out of hours when the adjacent car park is available.

Members of the public at the site meeting expressed concerns about the traffic the centre would generate and the need for additional car parking.

The planning and development committee will consider the application at their meeting on Tuesday, January 6.
