Bude Stay and Play playgroup has been in the town for the past 20 years, for children aged nought to five, but it is now in need of some new faces to join in order to continue. Organiser Kathy Goatcher told the 'Post' that "numbers are dwindling down" as there are more groups in the area and as the older children in the group will be moving onto school in September. This will again mean a decrease in numbers. 'Use us or lose us' this is the message Kathy is putting out to people — if Stay and Play cannot increase the numbers they will be forced to shut down as they cannot afford to pay the rent of the weekly venue. However, Kathy said that she "wants to keep it going if she can." The group meet once a week on a Wednesday morning from 9.45am to 11.45am in term time at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude, where children can take part in a range of fun activities. Kathy has changed the session slightly which now includes a story and song time. Kathy said the children that go along to the session "really enjoy it."
