Flexbury Stores, Bude had to operate from their next door neighbours' lounge last week after the shop's shutters broke. The shutters at Flexbury Stores broke down last Tuesday. Luckily next door neighbours, Chris and Christine Harris kindly offered their lounge as a temporary premises for the shop. Gina Crockford from Flexbury Stores said last Wednesday: "The shutters broke last night and we're waiting for someone to come and look at them. But at the moment we're in our next door neighbours' lounge. We've got bread, papers, eggs, everything! We've put a little sign up and we've been out on the street welcoming the community in." She added: "People have been brilliant." Thankfully the shutters were fixed later that day so they could return to the shop. Gina thanked Chris and Christine for letting them use their home: "With the credit crunch, it's nice to still have that community spirit." Gina has only been running the shop for a month and as well as the shutters breaking, the till has broken, the business car broke down and they had problems with the drains. Gina said: "The first month's been a bit manic!" However, she added: "Apart from all of that we're really enjoying it."
