PC DAVE Monkton, who has been the Bude Town, Stratton and Poughill Neighbourhood Beat Manager since the start of the year, is leaving the post on Promotion to Custody Sergeant at Launceston Police Station.
The move took effect from September 28. He has been a Police Officer in Bude since February, 2003, and before that, patrolled the streets of West Midlands since 1994.
PC Monkton said: "I am moving into a new role and an extremely excited about my promotion, but will however, miss working the Bude area and the people with whom I have worked immensely.
"Since becoming the Neighbourhood Beat Manager I have tried to embed myself into the community and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of that community.
"Those who I have come into contact with have really showed a passion for the area and have a town to be proud of.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in my current role and look forward to the possibility of returning to the area as a Sergeant in the future.
