OVER 3,000 visitors from as far and wide as Scotland and Wales descended on Bude last week to enjoy the five-day Bude Literary Festival.
The event featured workshops and events for all the family in addition to visits from well-known authors.
In total, there were 124 separate events across 13 venues and featured the support of over 20 local businesses.
A spokesperson for Bude-Stratton Town Council said: "What a huge success this was and we want to say a massive thank you to all our visitors, our supporters (whom there are so many), our volunteers, our sponsors, our collaborators, and the hard-working team behind the program and getting things ready behind the scenes, who without you, this couldn't have happened.
"Our local community has been amazing and helped spread the word, as well as enjoyed these events this year, you never fail to support us.
"The Schools program was highly entertaining and has inspired a generation into the world of literature.
"Our local businesses got fully involved this year in so many ways, not to mention the sponsorship they generously gave us to make this such an amazing event - we thank you all, dearly.
"So send us your feedback, and share your highlights. If you have any suggestions for the next one, please email them to: [email protected]. We'd love to hear your thoughts."
