BUDE based florist Sophie Watton has secured a highly impressive sixth place for Great Britain at the internationally acclaimed annual Eurofleurs competition in Split, Croatia.
Sophie, who works at Bleujen Florist under the tutelage of proprietor Erica Tippett, did Britain and Bude proud with her performances in the under 25 category of the competition, which was held at the south east European city's Diocletian's Palace.
The event comprised six creations — 'Becoming one of the European Stars', a free arrangement of cut flowers; 'A Feast for Diocletian and Prisca', a table decoration for two; 'Adriatic Wedding', a handheld bridal bouquet; 'Magic of Croatia', a free style plant and cut flower arrangement; and, held on the final gala evening at the famous Meštrovic Gallery, 'Poppaea's Party Dress', a free floral body decoration for a lady going to a party; and a surprise item, revealed at the time to be a hand-tied bouquet that had to incorporate 'a sense of Croatian heritage'.
