IN CONJUNCTION with the KS3 Olympic Festival being held at Budehaven, 70 pupils from the surrounding North Cornwall Primary schools descended the Sea Pool steps to compete in the Olympic Surf Life Saving Festival organised and run by Budehaven's own Sky Living for Sport Leaders on Tuesday, May 8.

This group of 13 Year 8 students have been trained over the last 14 weeks at Splash Pool by head coach Steve Stritch learning a range of lifesaving skills.

They were then assigned the huge responsibility of running an hour long festival at Summerleaze Beach using the sea pool and sand to create six exciting activities.

The weather was by no means perfect, but it did not dampen both the leaders' and competitors' spirits.
