THOUSANDS of people in North Cornwall, Torridge and West Devon paid tribute at combined Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day services to those who have given their lives for their country in all conflicts. Red poppies — both the symbol of sacrifice and a sign that we must care for those affected by war and the families of those who gave their lives — abounded, as the 'Last Post' reverberated through towns, villages and hamlets.
The youth organisations were well represented.
The parade progressed to Bude Methodist Church, where the Rev Paddy Kyle lead the service of Remembrance.
They were pleased to welcome Paula Dolphin, the Mayor of Bude and Stratton and Dan Rogerson, MP for North Cornwall, who both laid wreaths and attended the service.
Bude Town Band, which has a wealth of young members, provided the musical element.
