THIS has been an important year for the Probus Club of Bude and District as members celebrate the club's 30th anniversary.
The club has continued to meet regularly on the first and third Thursdays of each month at the New Inn, Kilkhampton with a guest speaker on the first Thursday and a lunch on the third Thursday.
This year there has been an interesting variety of speakers, covering a wide range of topics and in addition a coach trip was organised to the Dart Valley, including a boat trip and steam train ride which proved to be most popular.
In addition a shopping trip to Plymouth with an optional visit to the World Famous Gin Distillery was also well supported.
The club was formed in 1981 with its first home being the Strand Hotel, Bude, where they met for 22 years until the hotel was offered for sale.
