TRADITIONS were once again upheld at this year’s St Peter’s Fair with the bread weighing ceremony and children’s breakfast.

At 8am on Wednesday, July 6, St Peter’s Fair day, a proclamation of the opening of the fair was carried out by the town crier, Roger Dunstan, at the site of the ‘Old Great Tree of Holsworthy’ ahead of the traditional ‘Bread Weighing Ceremony’.

During the event the Portreeve, John Addicott, who has been a member of the Court Leet for around 20 years and was elected portreeve last year, presented certificates and extended an invitation to the children of primary school age who attended the proclamation to attend the children’s breakfast at Food On The Go.

Some of those who attended the children’s breakfast were Mitch Harris, Amelia Wilson, Eve Carnson, Samuel Hutchings, Matthew Jones, Scott Bingham, Daniel Allcorn, Taylor Hutchings, Aaron Squirrell, Lewis Chidley, Dylan Allcorn and Rhys Seymour Smith.
