HALFWAY through the season, and there is a fierce battle for the top spot in Division One, writes Dave Force.
With just two points separating the top four teams it looks sure to go to the final matches to decide. Blisland 'A' and Tamar Valley have to be favourites with matches in hand. Pete Freeburn (Tamar Valley) and Bob Thompson (Blisland) remain unbeaten; the two teams not yet having played each other.
It is a different story in Division Two as Crackington 'D' appear to be running the opposition ragged; the return of Frank Barnes being the key factor in their success. The battle in this division is to avoid the wooden spoon position – the bottom four teams currently separated by just four points.
New players are always welcome, whatever standard, and club and coaching sessions are held most weeks at Launceston College and at Blisland and Crackington Village Halls.. Anyone interested in finding out more should phone the League Secretary, Dave Salisbury, on 07879 486077.
