COMMUNITY fun and joy was had in Bude across the Bank Holiday weekend as residents came together to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

For many of those in attendance, it was an opportunity to participate in a moment of history, for increasingly fewer people are able to remember the previous time an event like this happened; the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II that an event like this last occurred. For all involved, a chance to get together.

A Bude-Stratton Town Council spokesperson said: “Today marks a significant moment in our nation’s history as we witness the coronation of our new King.

“Such events have the power to unite communities and bring people together, regardless of personal beliefs or opinions.

“Let us take a moment to acknowledge this historic occasion and reflect on the role we all play in shaping our country’s future.”
