ALL was set fair for Holsworthy Golf Club Ladies Medal with the weather and course recovering well after the recent wintry conditions so much so the winner burned up the course, Betty Byrne that is, her nett 72 edging out the ever consistent Carol Skrzypczak nett 73 with Ely Walmsley third 77.

Not so fortunate were the Veterans, such was the stormy weather their weekly competition was cancelled but fortunately as the weekend approached the high wind and heavy showers eased enabling AJ to stage his Junior Medal.

Dan Shadrick took the day's honours with Warren Sanders and Connor Morris in second and third places. Henry Kirkwood took the prize for the longest drive, Adam Thain had nearest the pin on the 8th, and Adam Isaac nearest the pin in three shots on the 18th. Both AJ and junior organiser Andy Morris expressed themselves well pleased with the day.

Andy was also pleased on a personal basis after the second round of the Combe Cup. Blessed with near perfect conditions Andy's return of 0 coupled with +3 in the first round takes him top of the table ahead of Geoff Young +1. Geoff was in second place in the second round but had to give best to Des who topped the list. The top scorers were Des Best +3, Geoff Young +2 as was also the score of club captain Trevor Watters and John Taylor.
