TWO 16-year-old beach patrol volunteers are being congratulated for their swift action in saving three people from dangerous currents off Crooklets Beach in Bude on Sunday.

With a large and dangerous surf running, Bude Surf Life Saving Club beach patrol were at the water's edge advising holidaymakers that there were very strong rip currents and to swim between the red and yellow flagged area.

Three holidaymakers ignored the good advice given out by Jobe Harris and Ella Henwood-Waters and entered the surf. Within minutes they were swept out of depth and one man in particular was waving for help.
