CANINE lovers from across the region will battle it out for top dog on Sunday, May 29, at the ‘Tetcott Lurcher, Terrier and Family Dog Show’ at North Arscott Farm, Sutcombe.
The Tetcott Hunt Supporters Club are hoping to draw in a big crowd this year to the North Arscott Farm, which has kindly been opened to the dog show by Ivor and Netty Prouse. Gates will open at 11.30am and the judging for all classes will begin at 1.30pm — with rosettes to be awarded to the third place contestants.
Supporters club secretary, Neville Course, said: “This event has proved very popular over recent years. Breeders and owners of working terriers and lurchers are a real dedicated group, often prepared to travel large distances to enjoy shows. Show rings will be in the open air but a large indoor area is available so weather wont be a problem.”
For families who believe their dog has the ‘waggiest tail’ or the ‘most appealing eyes’ then the dog show is the place to be.
Club members will be busy providing burgers, bacon baps and hot dogs, together with a licensed bar.
The showground can be reached to the west of the A388 at Holsworthy Beacon or to the east of the Chilsworthy-Bradworthy road at Youldonmoor Cross.
Schedules are available by email from [email protected] or by calling 01409 253163.
