A cheerful group of 30 volunteers turned up to take part in a Litter Pick event around Launceston, organised by Launceston in Bloom in collaboration with Launceston u3a and Launceston Lions.

“The support for this public event was great,” said Launceston in Bloom’s chairperson Georgie Adams. “An early start and a shower of rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Groups of helpers cleared litter from the Castle, around town, down Northgate Street and the Zig Zag path to Newport Industrial Estate, along Riverside, then return up St Thomas Road.

“Some areas were surprisingly litter-free, others not, and we bagged up a dozen or more black sacks, ready for collection by Biffa, who also supplied hi-vis vests and equipment. A huge Thank You to everyone who took part to clean up our historic town.”

This event was registered with Clean Cornwall.
