BUDE Primary Federation was very thankful for the recent and very informative visit of Paul Ford to both their infant and junior schools.
Paul is a volunteer ground crew member of Cornwall Air Ambulance and his visit was to both raise awareness of the air ambulance as well as inspire fundraising for the charity.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance has a very special place in the hearts of the school as the air ambulance recently treated the much-missed Bude Junior School pupil Jaye Napier.
Two of Jaye’s best friends, Sophie and Toby, have been inspired to organise a sponsored walk in his memory and to raise funds for the charity.
The 10k walk is scheduled to take place during half term and has already raised nearly £400.
Donations can be made to the walk via the ‘Toby and Sophie Memory Walk for Jaye’ on the Virgin Money Giving website.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance costs over £3-million per year to run and the intention of the school council is to hold further fundraising events on its behalf.
It was explained that all schools raising money for the charity will be entered into a draw for which the selected school will have a visit from the Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopter itself!
