BRADWORTHY was adorned with a colourful display of Christmas lights on Saturday, December 3, as the big switch on took place in the village.

As in previous years, the ceremony took place on the first Saturday of December.

This year, thanks to the fundraising efforts of the 'Clodhoppers' ladies skittle team and the generosity of the people of Bradworthy, extra lights were purchased.

A unique 'Welcome to Bradworthy' sign was created by Alan Balsdon, specially for the occasion and the Christmas tree was provided by Bradworthy Parish Council.

This year, Leader of Torridge District Council and councillor for Holsworthy Rural, Barry Parsons, received the honour of switching on the lights and he was complimentary of the display.
