TINTAGEL Carnival Committee is offering local (Tintagel Parish) groups, organisations, charities and people the chance to receive donations for worthwhile causes.

This scheme has been successful in the last couple years and with the 2017 being the most successful Tintagel Carnival ever, the carnival committee are welcoming applicants for the donations.

Letters should be sent to chairman Phil Aston, who said: “We are a village carnival and each year we look to donate to people, groups and organisations in the parish and the surrounding areas.

“Last year was our best ever with a really good street carnival as well as a record number of floats and entries. We also did really well through the carnival week with events such a quiz and disco and we’d like to put that income back into the community.”

“Last year we donated to the likes of Trebarwith Surf Life Saving Club, an OAP group and the Parent Teacher Association at a pre-school. We want those sort of people and groups to write us a letter explaining your application and what the funding will be used for. Once we’ve received them we’ll come to a decision as to who will get it and how much we can give out. We’ve already received a couple and I’ve spoken to a few people who are going to send something in.”

To apply, send your letter to Mr Phil Aston, 3 Laura Close, Tintagel, PL34 OEB. The deadline for applications is February 11.
