MEMBERS of the Holsworthy Moorland Training Group have once again had a successful weekend on Dartmoor, where their 35-and-45-mile teams participated in the Ten Tors challenge.

This challenge, taken up by 2,400 young people each year, still remains one of the few events available where young people can really put themselves to the test.

A test where skills in map reading, teamwork, survival and stamina, combined with a good deal of determination to make it to the finish without any outside help, really do count.

With rain throughout the preceding week it was with some relief that the weekend provided wall to wall sunshine with a gentle cooling breeze.

This meant perfect weather conditions for the teams even if the ground conditions were wet underfoot.
