A SIXTH Form Budehaven Community College student has made his own 3D printer.

Andrew Hunter has already gained high grades at GCSE in three different Design Technology subjects: Resistant Materials, Graphics and Electronic Products.

Leader of learning DT, teacher Alan Barnes, said: "Andrew has a very inquisitive mind, and loves the challenge of problem solving. He is now following the A-level Product Design course, which will allow him to extend his interest in this subject even further."

One of Andrew's hobbies outside school is repairing iPhones for his friends. He also enjoys ICT, and likes to use it as a tool to help him solve his technological

problems.

During the summer holiday, Andrew decided to set himself the challenge of making a 3D printer from scratch.
