Altarnun Primary School celebrated their annual Harvest Festival in a packed-out school hall.

The children at the school performed recitals, songs and poems in front of staff and students, as they took time to give thanks for all they have to be grateful for.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Our wonderful school community donated non-perishable items for Launceston Food Bank. Thank you all for your generosity and for helping to show our children the importance of sharing and helping others less fortunate.

“We have welcomed the Open the Book team back into school this half term and the children have also had the opportunity to rehearse their character parts of the Bible story in a lunchtime club. The whole school actively participated in the story during this enrichment activity and promoted pupils’ holistic development.”

As well as this, the school’s “little gardeners” have been out in full force, tending to the school garden! They got their hands dirty, exploring the wonders of nature, and learning so much along the way.

A spokesperson continued: “It’s truly amazing to see how enthusiastic and curious they are about the world around them. Our outdoor learning program is all about fostering a love for the environment, nurturing their curiosity, and developing essential life skills. Watching these young minds engage with the garden, ask questions, and work together is a testament to the power of hands-on learning.”
