A NEW Launceston bus stop is picking up its first passengers following an 18-month battle to get it installed.
Jade Farrington, the Liberal Democrat Cornwall Councillor for Launceston South, said she started pushing the authority for a new stop on Western Road shortly after she was elected in May 2013.
She worked with fellow Alex Folkes, Cornwall Councillor for Launceston Central, to get a new stop on each side of the main road, which acts as the boundary between the two divisions.
Cllr Farrington said: "Local resident Richard Goodman approached me to ask if a new bus stop could be installed near the Co-op."
