TEMPERATURES in excess of 25C proved to be too over powering for any course records to get broken at the Torbay Half Marathon, however, that did not put off five local athletes based at Launceston Road Runners.

Although none of the athletes gained a personal best, all were content with their times and have already booked their place for next year!

Alan Littlejohns, running his 200th official Half Marathon came in at a very respectable 1hr 44 minutes.

Peter Kirby led the way for Launceston Road Runners with his very impressive finish time of 1hr 41 minutes.

Former Guinness World Record Holder for Fastest Marathon in a Super-hero Outfit, David Green, donned a regular pair of shorts and a club running vest and had a sprint down the home stretch and finished in an 'acceptable' time of 2hrs and 2 minutes.

John Brown kept up with David for the entirety of the undulating course, and shed any notions aside of his ten-year seniority to David, and came in 'very contented' at 2hrs and 4 minutes.

Last, but by no means least, Demelza Turvey ran her very first Half Marathon at Torbay. She did herself, and Launceston Road Runners, very proud with a finish time of 2 hrs and 20 minutes.
