ONE of the South-West's largest livestock markets is due to open in just a few weeks. Work on the multi-million pound agribusiness centre near Holsworthy started on site in June 2013 and completion is expected before the end of this month. Once finished, managers of the new livestock market, Kivells auctioneers, will move in and prepare for the first market. A spokesperson for Torridge District Council said: "This process involves the commissioning of systems and equipment and is expected to take up to a month." County and district Conservative councillor for Holsworthy Barry Parsons is looking forward to the completion. He told Holsworthy Town Councillors last week: "I was hoping the agri-business centre would be open now, but things do get delayed." A new roundabout at the junction of the A388 and Blind Lane/New Market Road is expected to be finished after the agribusiness centre.
