Sir, I live on the minor road where a nasty accident took place on the LCW last Saturday; it was an accident waiting to happen and before long there will be a fatality. If the organisers insist on using the minor roads, either close the roads or at least have a sign stating that there are cyclists on the road or a marshal on all junctions (there were none last Saturday). We are a dairy farm and the milk tanker came last Saturday and he went up the road, how on earth there was not another accident. The main issue I have is that the cyclists do not own the road, they were travelling at great speed and coming round the narrow corners in groups; it was absolutely ridiculous. There should be a rule that the maximum number of cyclist should be two and to keep on the left-hand side of the road. I know that had I been driving the vehicle that was involved in the accident, I would be devastated. I really hope the cyclist fully recovers. I should say that I have no issue with the LCW, I think it is great for the county, together with the Ironman, but better organising and more rules for the cyclists.
