THERE is likely to be a shortfall in the cash needed to carry out work to update signage on Holsworthy Industrial Estate.

Torridge District Council granted advertising consent to replace the outdated sign at the estate entrance and for seven additional signs last month.

A road runs through the industrial estate, with seven roads leading off it.

There would be one sign at the entrance to the estate and another seven at each of the seven roads, with a list of the businesses along each road.

Holsworthy Town Council last week heard that tenders for the work should be returned on February 13.

There have been monetary contributions from the district council and some councillors, but the 60 businesses on the industrial estate were asked if they could contribute £25 each to cover an estimated shortfall.
