It was a sea of red as the Bude and Stratton Branch of the British Heart Foundation saw a good turn out for its annual October Coast and Countryside fundraising walk.

Thirty seven walkers and a varied assortment of dogs enjoyed a sunny, if windy, walk up the Bude Canal to Helebridge, over the downs to Widemouth Bay and along the coast path to finish at Crooklets Inn.

The BHF in Bude is, this year, concentrating its fundraising to help provide new state of the art echo cardiagraph scanners at two of the regions main cardiac units at Barnstaple and Derriford.

With some sponsorship money still to come in, the walk has already raised well over £1,100. The Bude committee of the BHF are extremely grateful to all who took part and all who sponsored their efforts.
