THE widely praised Kneehigh Theatre Company of Cornwall may have sadly folded this summer, after 40 years of creating world class events, but theatre-goers in Bude have a festive opportunity to relish a virtuoso performance by David Mynne, who was a founder member of Kneehigh Theatre.

His one-man version of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ in which he tells the story and plays all the characters, is a joy to behold. Spend an evening in the company of a mean, tight-fisted, squeezing, grasping, clutching old miser.

Watch horrified as Ebenezer Scrooge is haunted by four creepy ghosts, each one more terrifying than the last. Sob at the bedside of a tiny, malnourished child riven with rickets. Stagger through the dark, dirty, dismal streets of Victorian London. This is Dickens’ original words with added silliness.

Celebrate the festive season with this mesmerising one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ timeless, transformative story.

The 75-minute show is suitable for adults and older children (eight and over) A total of £1 from each ticket sold goes to support the Friends of Bude Sea Pool and there will be a cash raffle to raise further funds for the charity
