POLICE are seeking information after a woman was reported to have been sexually assaulted near Liftondown.

Detectives have launched an investigation after the incident, which is reported to have happened in the Liftondown area of the A388 at the weekend.

It was reported that a woman was sexually assaulted by a man at around 1am on Saturday, August 2 near to the Methodist church.

Detective inspector Neil Lloyd said: “The female victim is being supported by specially trained officers as our enquiries are continuing.

“We are currently appealing for dashcam footage from anyone who was driving in that area between midnight and 2am on Saturday, August 2.

“Incidents of this nature understandably cause great concern in the local community, and we urge anyone with any information to contact us.”
