AFTER a period of uncertainty, Launceston Police Cadets are going from strength to strength.
They are following the new national programme of Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC), which gives a rank structure within the cadets and a new uniform.
Recently, in front of their parents, all of the cadets present took the cadet oath.
Then Inspector Lynden Hughes of Launceston Police presented five cadets with promotion in line with the new rank structure of the VPC.
Each of these cadets were presented with a certificate with their new rank.
Police cadets are aged from 13 to 18. Anyone interested in joining can look up VPC online and apply through this website.
A club spokesperson said: “We are really keen to expand our cadet group. We currently have a fantastic group, why not pop along and chat to them?”
