POLICE are advising the public to be aware of suspicious circumstances in the Penhole Drive area of Launceston.

The owner of a young dog returned home to find the rear gate open. On closer inspection a ‘sticker’ was found to have been stuck on the gate. No attempt had been made to break in to the house but concern was raised that the sticker may be identifying where a dog worth stealing lives.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson added: “This may not be the case but all dog owners are advised to ensure their dogs are secure and safe.”

The incident took place during the day on Thursday, January 23.
