POLICE are investigating an attempted theft at a cashpoint in Bude in the early hours of Wednesday, October 23.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Offenders targeted the machine at the Co-op store in Burn View sometime between 2.25am and 2.50am.

“The machine sustained substantial fire damage in the attempt but the offenders failed to get inside or steal any money.

“The offenders are believed to have travelled to the shop in a white Ford Transit van which had been stolen from Westheath Avenue in Bodmin between 3pm on Tuesday 22 October and 2.10am the next day.”

Police are investigating and appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the area at the time of the offence to contact them via [email protected] or by phone on 101, quoting reference CR/095642/19.
