A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital yesterday afternoon [October 13] with serious injuries following a suspected hit and run in St Teath.

Police were called at 4pm on Wednesday to reports of a collision between a Chevrolet and a pedestrian on North Road in St Teath.

The vehicle failed to stop but was later located.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed: “Police were called just before 4pm on Wednesday, October 13, following reports of a collision between a Chevrolet and a pedestrian on North Road, St Teath; the vehicle failed to stop following the collision and left the area.

“The pedestrian was a 12-year-old boy who sustained a serious ankle injury and was subsequently airlifted to Treliske Hospital for treatment.

“At around 7.30pm police located the vehicle believed to have been involved with the incident. 

“Police have also since identified and located the driver who is now assisting officers with their enquiries.”
