Bude Royal British Legion (RBL) received a huge donation this week as part of this year’s Poppy Appeal.

David Worth, chairman of Bude RBL thanked Bude Post Office this week after they presented a cheque or £4,500 to the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion. Money was raised at this year’s Kilkhampton Festival of Remembrance. The event is held in aid of the local Poppy Appeal and hopes to raise funds while remembering those who served our country. The event saw members of the Rifles, Royal Electrical and Medical Engineers, Parachute Regiment, Royal Navy, RAF and RAF cadets in attendance. Following the festival, Luke Francis of Bude Post Office presented a cheque to Bude RBL chairman. 

Mr Worth said: “I’d like to thank Luke and his team in Kilkhampton for their amazing donation to this year’s Poppy Appeal. Kilhampton village have always supported us, and are a shining example of a great Cornish village.”
