This year’s Holsworthy Carnival was “well attended and went without any problems”.

Best royalty float on the day went to Launceston, but the best overall float was called ‘Disney 100’  from Hatherleigh, the lead contact being Natalie Wonnacott.

On behalf of the committee, Robin Mitchell summed up the event, he said: “We raised £682.76 through the trailer and bucket collectors. And a couple of Euros and one South African Rand.

“The carnival committee would like to thank everybody that donated on the evening. All the money will go to help fund next year’s carnival.

“The carnival committee would also like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time to help out.”

The annual Holsworthy Carnival window dressing competition was won by Floral Designs this year. In second place was The Card Kabin, and Holsworthy Emporium was third. Highly commended went to North Devon Hospice Shop, The Hat Shop, and Yarns of Holsworthy.

Robin added: “Holsworthy carnival committee and Holsworthy & District Lions would like to thank everybody that took part this year.”
