YOUNG footballers in Camelford are appealing for new players and sponsors' in their hope to establish themselves as a force in local football.

Camelford FC are seeking players aged Under-7 to join the small group of players who train on Wednesday evening at the Sir James Smith astro turf pitch.

Team manager Peter Knowles said "the lads are desperate to get enough numbers to form a team and enter competitions. There are some tournaments we could enter this July if we had the numbers. We have a small dedicated group of players and would welcome any new players.

"Basically any child in the school years reception and years 1 and 2 would be welcome. Girls are welcome too and the emphasise is based on having fun. If we have enough interest from year 2 year children, we may be able to form two teams."
