BUDE hosted the first of 2013's Clash of the Clubs tournaments on Friday, February 22, to the delight of the town's young participants and those joining from Launceston and Wadebridge.

The Clash of the Clubs — now in its second year — offers a normal ratings competition, with the added ingredient of a point to each club for each player in attendance, a further point per match played and a bonus point for each match won. The day itself was bitterly cold, but that did not deter a large entry from all three clubs.

The mini red competition saw 14 players from all three clubs gain valuable match play experience, with Daniel Howgill from Launceston winning the final.

Louis Davey won the orange event in emphatic style, sweeping all comers aside without conceding more than a couple of points per match. The afternoon saw the arrival of the junior boys and girls.
