ON the weekend of May 26/27 Launceston Golf Club's Club Championships were played.
The Chamber of Trade Trophy is the handicap prize for the weekend and the Gibson Cup is the scratch prize.
On Saturday the wind played havoc with scoring and sorted the boys from the men with the "boys" having the upper hand with the best gross score by Kieran Hancock with 79 gross, the lowest nett score being 72 against the par of 70 showing how difficult it was. Scoring improved on the Sunday with the best being Gareth Knight with a nett 64.
These two ran out winners over the two days Kieran winning the Gibson Cup and Gareth the Chamber of Trade. Runners-up were Geoff Francis and Jamie Baker.
