TENNIS this summer has been awesome, according to Launceston's Will Heard.
He now receives coaching four times a week — in addition to specific strength and fitness sessions — and has competed in the County Championships in Newquay in both singles, and for the first time, doubles. Will was also awarded the Fair Play Trophy for the best conduct and sportsmanship.
He gained his Green 1 status by achieving 20 qualifying wins and playing 40 matches, and most recently won the Under 18's Boy's Launceston Tennis Club Championships.
Will said: "I am now looking forward to a busy winter season training and competing in the Green Ball 10 years and under category, before moving onto full ball competitions next March."
