THE regular Cornwall Cricket League season might have finished less than a month ago but Werrington have announced their first signing of the winter in the shape of Tintagel all-rounder Ryan Pooley.

Pooley, who bats in the top four and bowls seam at a decent pace, has been one of the most consistent performers in Division Two East over the last couple of seasons – racking up over 1200 runs and taking nearly 70 wickets.

He joins the ECB Cornwall Premier League outfit having spent his junior career at Ladycross and will hope to make the step up to the level his father Adrian played at for Werrington an opening bowler back in the early to mid-2000s.

See next week’s Post for more on the signing and Werrington’s recent presentation night.
