ON Sunday Launceston Under-7s played on astroturf for the first time. The children rose to the challenge quickly and James McIver Redwood started with a quick try followed by two tries from Tristen O'Reilly. The team had to work hard for their points on this faster pitch and had to really work as a team with plenty of passing and tagging. Newquay scored a couple of tries in the first half and were defending very well. Despite this Ellen Armstrong did some excellent running which resulted in a try followed by another try from Ben Bryant which put them in the lead at half time. Daniel Howgill and Ashley Davey scored two more tries for a good win.
