LAST weekend Davey Green, Launceston-based football referee, ran his 28th and 29th Marathons, within 24 hours of each other, at Lake Caldecotte in Milton Keynes.
Day one started at minus 12c and ended with a PB of 4:25:47 which smashed Davey's previous PB by over ten minutes which he had acquired 20 Marathons ago. He decided to celebrate his new PB by running over the finish line bear-chested in the freezing conditions.
Day two was more of a challenge and a respectable finish time of 5:15:25 was achieved.
This was all part of Davey's Master Plan, which is to complete ten official marathons in ten days at Lake Windermere in May 2012. His achievements in marathon running and fundraising, thus far, have also led to him becoming an Official 2012 Olympic Torchbearer.
