Pill AFC - 1
Abergavenny Town FC - 4
TOWN'S dream of remaining unbeaten for the entire season, took another giant step forward when they returned home from Pill with a hard fought victory.
Jac Evans sent them on their way after 35 minutes when his free kick deceived Cueto in Pill's goal.
Pill drew level early in the second half, but a two goal blast from the trickery of Jake Heckles on the 70th minute saw Town edge ahead again. Moments later Dan Jenkins headed on for Dean Morgan to net, setting Pill back on their heels.
Victory was assured when Craig Norman's pile-driver of a free kick screamed into the net, with two minutes left on the clock.
Town now know they have to remain unbeaten in their last two fixtures of the season, the first of which is away at Cwmffrwdoer on Saturday. The following Tuesday, Town entertain local rivals Blaenavon Blues ( April 28, kick-off 6.30pm) in a match where they will hope to achieve the record.
The club has announced another two plum pre-season home matches to follow that of Llanelli Town FC. Merthyr Town FC will visit Pen-y-Pound on Tuesday July 14, whilst Barry Town FC have said they will also visit in July (date to be confirmed).
