NINETEEN members of Bude RATS took part in this weekend's Bideford 10k road race, hosted by Bideford AAC. Blustery but dry conditions were the order of the day as the runners took to the roads around the town and along the Tarka Trail heading out to Instow before crossing the finish line at Bideford Quay. A field of over 700 entrants from all over the South West saw runners of all abilities take part, including several members of Bude RATS competing for the first time after completing the clubs 0-10k training course, which was run to encourage and support anyone who wanted to take up running for the first time, or after a long break from the sport. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
