A busy weekend for Tenby Aces members last weekend, with members spread throughout the county and indeed throughout the country.
So on with the country part first, with huge congratulations to Elaine Brace who ran in the London Marathon. Running to raise funds for NSPCC, she completed the course in a time of 04:43:12, an excellent time. I am sure that she would still accept donations should anyone wish to sponsor her after this great achievement.
Then onto the members taking part in our county on the Tour of Pembrokeshire. This event started out initially with around 400 riders and now has over 1,500 riders, taking part in one of its three different distances, these being 50, 75 or 100 miles. The 75-mile route has over 6,500 feet of climbing and for the really adventurous, the 100-mile route has nearly 10,000 feet of climbing.
This year, the riders where riding alongside a true cycling great, Chris Boardman, who was an Olympic gold medallist in Barcelona and winner of three stages of the Tour de France, to mention just a few of his achievements.
Completing the 100-mile route were Julie Andrasko, Colin Barrett, Sion Jenkins, David Swan, Aled Smith, Huw Benbow and David Ayers. Taking part on the 75-mile route were Chris Ebsworth, Karina Ebsworth, John Hubbard, Iain Rich and Sue Swan, while on the 50-mile route were Peter Armytage, Steve Davis and Simon Stanford. A huge congratulations to all who took part; sore legs for a few days.
