JULY saw the tenth anniversary of Bude Pilot Gig Club. Brainchild of Christopher Bale, the club has gone from strength to strength since its formation, giving much pleasure to people of all ages in the town and surrounding areas. Following four years of research, Chris went to the local press in the September of 2001 explaining how the venture was brought about. Big helps in the establishment of the club were Ray Shaddick, who worked at Radio Cornwall at the time, and Dick Willoughby, a member of the local council which provided a wonderful donation of £500 to launch the fundraising.
