TWENTY swimmers gathered in the Splash Leisure Centre, Bude, recently to raise funds for the Cornwall Carers Service.

Organised by Helen Fewster, who, following the recent bereavement of her husband, Mr Colin Stuart Fewster, wanted to do something for Cornwall Carers Service, which had provided a grant of £81 for her when she was caring for her husband.

Helen described the grant's impact as hugely important: "I spent it on three massage sessions when my husband was ill and the break it gave me was wonderful. I hope that the money we raise will help other carers in Cornwall in similar situations."
