BUDEHAVEN Community School hosted the North Cornwall Primary Games last week on a sunny Wednesday afternoon where over 400 students from 17 local primary schools took part.
The winners of the games qualified for the Sainsbury Cornwall School Games that is being hosted in St Austell on June 26 and will represent North Cornwall and compete along with over 3000 other students in Cornwall.
The games were opened by 'Chuffy' the Cornwall School Games mascot which was designed by a pupil from Bude Junior school in the CSG's cultural competition last year.
Julie Ponting, the School Games Organiser for East Cornwall, commended the Young Leaders from Budehaven Community School on their professionalism and proficiency, on officiating and scoring the competitions and the Budehaven Community School PE Department on making the event so successful.
Justin Knox from British Cycling ran the grass track cycling event, Ben Knight, Director of TennisMad ran the mini-tennis competition and Simon Wood, Cornwall Golf Development Officer ran the tri golf competition.
