FOLLOWING their recent medal haul at the Scottish National Championships, Heather Sirmon and Rachel Stratton from BOP (Bude, Okehampton and Plymouth) Tae Kwon-Do Club brought home respective gold and bronze medals for their patterns at the Southern Regional Championships in Paington on Saturday, September 30.
Fellow student, Gor Ling Yi, joined them at Torbay Leisure Centre, for her first go at the competition circuit and gained herself a bronze for sparring. Also competing were Rob Blewett, who found himself in the ring with some tricky opponents, and junior students Milly and Martha Stratton, and Evelyne Sirmon, who performed well in their pattern categories but missed out on medal positions.
The girls are determined to keep trying, while Rob said: “I’ve learnt a lot just by being at the competition, it’s been a good experience.”
